Spring Changes= Big Changes
Social Moms recently inspired me to write about little switches I am making in my routine. Spring is the perfect time to think about making changes in my routine. Little changes can make a big difference! For example, here are a few things I am working on this spring:
- Getting outside more. Here in Northeast Ohio, it is cold at least 5-6 months of the year. So when spring finally gets here, I like to open the windows and get outside!
- Working on cleaning the basement. I find that if I try and fill a few bags of trash a week, the basement starts to look better.
- Eating more fruits and veggies. I especially love the strawberries at Costco!
- Putting down the phone and switching off the TV. This is a big deal for me, because I love to be connected and go on Twitter or watch my favorite talk show. But I’ve found having more quiet time in my house not only helps me, but my family!
- Giving away more stuff. We have a Goodwill up the road and whenever I am out running errands, I try and bring in a few bags of items to donate.
- Getting rid of clutter. After a long winter, things seem to pile up. I also stockpile items, so rotating stock and giving items away is something else I am working on.
- Trying new things. On my list are ice skating (haven’t done that since I was a kid) and getting on a rollercoaster at Cedar Point (haven’t been on one in a few years)
- Calling far away friends and family. I have many relatives who live far away. We keep in touch by email and Facebook, but I am going to make more of an effort to call them (or get on Skype)!
- Revisiting my goal list. I make a goal list every year but find that by March, I’ve gotten off track a little. So I’m going to keep reminding myself what my goals are for the year.
- Visiting far away family. I also want to make more of an effort to visit family. For example, my sister recently moved a lot closer, so we will have to make a trip out to see her and her husband!
- Baking and cooking more! There are basic dishes I know how to make (I make a great lasagna!) but I really need to spend more time in the kitchen, than watching the show “Martha Bakes”- which is excellent, by the way!
So those are my little switches I am working on for this year!
