Love the Moment In Virginia Beach
At least once a year, we like to escape to the beach. There is something about relaxing at the beach. Maybe it’s the salty air, the relaxed vibe or the sand beneath your feet. Or it could be the sun shining overhead and the beautiful blue water. Whatever it is (or all of them!), Virginia Beach is the perfect choice for families, they offer something for everyone. It is a short car ride away, for a fun and restful weekend getaway!
Here are a few of the reasons Virginia Beach would be a great vacation choice:
1. Old Cape Henry Lighthouse: Take in some history, while you climb and explore this historic lighthouse. Since 1607, it was guided the way for sailors. When we are on vacation, we love to look for historical landmarks. It’s a great way to incorporate history into our vacation for our 9 year old son Cam.
2. Or is golf more your thing? Enjoy a leisurely golf game, more info here.
3. Kids love mini-golf too! Head over to their indoor and outdoor mini-golf courses.
4. During our annual vacation, we always try and find a local aquarium. My son Cam loves learning about new aquatic creatures. While in Virginia Beach, be sure to stop by Virginia Aquarium.
5. Kids will never say no to a visit to a waterpark. Head over to their Ocean Breeze waterpark, that was a new Hooks Lagoon and get ready for some fun!
6. Take a break from the aquatic fun and head over to Pungo to pick your own strawberries. Kids will have a great time, picking (and tasting) juicy strawberries.
7. I’ve never been parasailing, but this sounds like a lot of fun! Sail 1,000 feet above the water and take in the magnificent view all around you.
8. Looking for a cool, air-conditioned view of Virginia Beach history? Head over to their many museums and historical tours . This is a fun way for kids to learn about history.
9. And don’t forget about eating out! Vacations are all about trying new things. You will love the coastal cuisine that Virginia Beach offers. From fresh tuna to sun-dried tomato and more, try (and enjoy) all they have to offer.
10. And of course, don’t miss out on the beaches! Over 35 miles of beautiful beaches wait for you to enjoy. Sunbathe, read a book, swim, enjoy water sports and more.
