60 Seconds to Ease Back Pain
This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of American Osteopathic Association for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
I’ve been blogging for 10+ years and have logged a lot of time sitting in my office chair! I’ve noticed over time, I’ve had more back issues and chronic pain.
About a year ago, I started to get sciatic nerve pain. It progressively got worse and I herniated a disc in my back. At first, I didn’t know what it was, until I went to my doctor. They gave me medication and recommended I take a break from sitting at the computer. I hadn’t been sitting up or sitting properly in my office chair. And my office chair was not very good at all. I bought a new chair at the office store, which has helped my back tremendously and now sit with both feet on the floor, instead of putting one leg over the other, etc.
I also had to go to a physical therapist who helped me with proper sitting techniques and stretching exercises. She also recommended getting up from working every hour and walking around. I’ve also started taking walks and that has really helped my back too. We talked for an hour about how proper sitting can really affect your back. I also did a lot of research online and watched this video from the American Osteopathic Association.
Did you know that 2 out of 3 office workers have had back pain in the past 6 months? It doesn’t have to be this way! Take a look at this video and you can learn how to work pain-free. It only takes 60 seconds to learn how to Break Through Your Pain. The stretching techniques in the video were really easy and helpful.
If you’ve had back pain, I’d like to hear what stretches or strategies have helped you!
