This article hits a little too close to home...my basement could tell the tale of all the clearance I have bought. I have a pretty good organization system now, but when I go down there, I still find long lost missing treasures (like those Harry Potter rubber bracelets for my son's birthday party a few years ago). Or the 8 packs of Thanksgiving paper plates. Or kitchenware or extra sets of dishes, I could never use in a thousand years. 

My sister Em went into my basement last year and exclaimed "We could have an awesome garage sale with all this!". Yeah, she is probably right. But could I part with my treasures? I'm not sure. I have given stuff to family and donated items, so I know how to part with things. It's just that collection of toys for birthday parties, that might happen, that motivates me to keep everything.
