10+ Amazing Ways to Save at Ikea

I love Ikea, as many of you know. I wanted to share some savings secrets with you!

1. One of my fave places to check out is the "as-is" room for discounted, preassembled products. The items in this room were either returned, used as display products, or slightly damaged, @ really great prices.

2. Before you go to the store, check for local Ikea discounts on the store's website. Every store has special coupons and offers, particularly for food, so make sure you take advantage of them.

3. Before making any big purchases, look up comparably priced items and read reviews about the product you're considering. Be sure to check in the "Offers" section of the site as well.  Most Ikea stores offer free WiFi in the restaurant area, so bring a laptop with you.

4. If you end up missing parts for your Ikea purchase, the store will replace them for free. All you have to do is figure out the missing part number (listed in the assembly instructions) and call your local store to ask for replacements.

5. This was a new deal to me! You receive a $25 discount when you sign up for the Ikea moving program, and the program also has handy tools like shopping lists and inspiration boards. There's no obligation to sign up, and only have to spend $250 (one or two pieces of furniture) to get the discount.

6. This is a must for everyone! Ikea offers a free, no-obligations discount program for any interested customers, and it can help you score the best deals in the store! The Family Program entitles you to special discounts, members-only savings events, early sales announcements, 90-day price protection, and even coffee/tea in the store's restaurant.

7. Price-check! Making a larger purchase? Check the IKEA Offers page and online prices. You can make sure you’re getting the best price (even if it’s not advertised).

8. Pre-order online. You can order what you need, and pick it up at the loading dock. Life hack: Do this at EVERY store possible. Never create more work, walking or small talk than you have to.

9. Download the IKEA Catalog app. It's their augmented reality app that lets you test how actual IKEA products will look in your home. The selection of products is minimal, but the app has some great features like the ability to save your favorite products for later, save of the image of your room layout with the IKEA product, and more. Click here to download IKEA Catalog from the iTunes Store .

10. Measure twice and buy once. At least that is the goal. Refer to IKEA by Size to help you look for items that fit your space perfectly. Don't forget to measure the car, doorways used and paths you’ll carry the furniture through.

11. Browse online before you head to the actual store. IKEA is huge and sometimes overwhelming. If you take a look at what's available online, you might get a better idea of what to look for and what to expect. The online selection is not as vast as the selection in-store, but it is a good start.

12. Lost the assembly instructions for your product? IKEA was nice enough to produce and share Assembling with IKEA videos for their most popular products. Check them out here.

13. Did you know IKEA has a registry? You can find, create, or manage a registry for a wedding, a new baby, a new home, or whatever the occasion may be.

14. Start shopping at the Exit. When you enter IKEA through the Exit, you automatically end up at the warehouse where prices are slashed.

Don't forget to pick up a pack of cinnamon buns in the grocery section. They are so good!
