Tackle Your Spring Cleaning With Mean Green
1. Make a List of What Needs to Be Cleaned in Each Room
Write out a list of what you need to do in each room. No point in wasting time if you don't have the right cleaners and tools to work with!
2. Listen to music
Music will get you moving and put you in a better mood while you clean!
3. Clean One Room at a Time
Pick which room is the worst and tackle that first. Getting the first room, like the kitchen, out of the way. This will motivate you to keep going!
4. Declutter
Before cleaning, decluttering is a necessity. Recycle and get rid of anything that doesn't belong in that room. Now is a good time to start a Goodwill donation box. You can also use Decluttr.com (also a good way to make cash!) or the Give Back Box program.
5. Set a Timer
This can help you to get through a room faster, without stopping to go over old photos or mementos.
6. Recruit Some Help
Having a buddy to help is always a good thing. Get the family involved. Each person can pick a room they'd like to work on and take it from there.
7. Start at the Top and Work Your Way Down
This is the easiest way to make the room sparkle. First, clean out dusty cobwebs from the corner, wash the curtains, clean the windows, dust the furniture, vacuum the furniture and finally, vacuum the floor. And be sure to open those windows and let in the fresh air!
