Patch follows the journalistic style of a regular newspaper, but it’s online-only and focused on news about the town it covers. You’ll be considered a freelancer and paid via PayPal.

They also offer the opportunity to start your own Patch site in your town. They’ll provide you with an iPhone and laptop if you became a Patch site editor, and you’ll then be considered an AOL Patch employee.
