Easter Chex Mix

Super fun and easy to make! Package up in plastic baggies for the kiddos!
Ingredients:

2 cups each: corn chex, rice chex
small bag of pretzel sticks
1 c. of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/4 margarine
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 cups of pastel candies (we like Easter M&M's)

Directions:
  • Into large bowl, measure cereal; set aside.
  • In 1-quart microwavable bowl, microwave chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter uncovered on High 1 minute; stir. Microwave about 30 seconds longer or until mixture can be stirred smooth. Stir in vanilla. Pour mixture over cereal, stirring until evenly coated. Pour into 2-gallon resealable food-storage plastic bag.
  • Add powdered sugar. Seal bag; shake until well coated. Spread on waxed paper to cool. Store in airtight container in refrigerator.

Easter Bunny Cake

I've been making this Easter bunny cake, every Easter, since I was 12 years old. I found the recipe in a Family Circle magazine and loved it. Cam helped me this year decorate the cake. We decided on Cadbury eggs for the eyes, nose and mouth and a few cute Peeps to decorate around the cake.

This cake can be made many different ways. I normally dye the coconut green (for grass) and put around the bunny cake, but I ran out of food coloring. Here is the recipe and traditional decorating technique, from Kraft Foods. Enjoy!

    DIY Sea Glass

Here's how to make these really pretty sea glass style jars!

    Materials needed:

Old vases from Goodwill, Walmart sells canning jars that work well too.

    Elmer’s Glue

    Food Coloring

    Sponge Paint Brushes.

You mix the glue with the food coloring to make your desired color. Add a little coloring to the glue, and then keep adding until you have the color you want. I put on the glue paint on around the lower part of the vase and the upper rim. Then, you do smooth strokes all the way up and down the vase. After it's dry, be sure to do one more coat for a polished finish.
