Pier 1 is the latest retailer to make headlines with store closures. 

Pier 1 Imports is planning the closure of up to 450 stores to “better align its business with the current operating environment. The company said in a press release that it also plans to close select distribution centers and further reduce its expenses by laying off corporate employees.
