Captain No Beard Book: Christmas Gift Idea
/This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Carole Roman. All opinions are 100% mine.
From the time my son Cam was born, we have always spent a lot of time reading to him. Especially at Christmas time, giving books as gifts is one of our family traditions. His grandparents send him books too. And with books having gone high-tech, we are considering getting him a Kindle.
Pirates, mermaids and adventure- every child likes to be transported to an imaginary land. Cam was Captain Jack Sparrow in Kindergarten for Halloween. And as a family, we love the Pirates of Caribbean movies. So Captain No Beard is a good book choice for him!
You'll want to set sail with Captain No Beard - An Imaginary Tale of a Pirate's Life, by Carole P. Roman. Here's what the book is about!
Captain No Beard and his pirate ship The Flying Dragon set sail for a voyage of the imagination with his fearless crew of four: First Mate Hallie, Mongo the Monkey, Linus the loudmouthed lion, and Fribbit the floppy frog. Normally a young boy named Alexander, his cousin Hallie, and three stuffed animals, once they board his bed their world is transformed into a magical vessel, sailing the seven seas on dangerous and exciting adventures! "Roman charms with an imaginative, whimsical picture book that will entertain even the oldest pirates." Kirkus Review
I feel the characters in this book are an inspiration to any child in elementary school. Facing challenges and responsibilities is an important life lesson. Captain No Beard steps up and fulfills his leadership role. We all want our children to be leaders and learn responsibility. Reading to our children about inspirational role models is one way to do this.
So if you have a few gifts to buy on your gift list for your kiddos, consider picking up a copy of Captain No Beard - An Imaginary Tale of a Pirate's Life.
