When my sister Em got married a few years ago, she asked me to be her maid of honor. I had never been maid of honor before, so it was such an honor! At the time, she lived 15 hours away, so she drove out here and we went dress shopping. After we picked out the really pretty purple bridesmaid dress, we picked up matching bags and shoes. My son was the ringbearer and it was so fun for him to try on tuxes at age 7, he was so adorable!
Her wedding was a few months away, at a beautiful resort in the mountains. It was quite an adventure driving up there, because it was literally in the mountains! But once you got to the top, it was such an amazing place. The main house was in the middle of the resort, while they had an outdoor gazebo, barn, and old-fashioned church for weddings. Em and Jeff opted to have their wedding outside. Em had made a really pretty gazebo decoration and it was just such a beautiful ceremony. Afterwards, we went to the reception where Em and Jeff had decided on a vegan buffet, which had the most delicious choices!
Em had also made a table honoring our grandmother, who had passed away in 2003. It was such a nice tribute to her. Afterwards, there was a lot of dancing and fun and it was just an amazing time.
