If you’d like to help The Christmas Tree Project brighten another family’s Christmas with the gift of a decorated Christmas tree, they are currently looking for donations of trees, decorations, and money. To make a donation, visit the organization’s website at TheChristmasTreeProject.org.

CVS Removes Zantac From Shelves

CVS customers who have already purchased ranitidine products can return them to CVS for a refund. The retailer will continue to sell other over-the-counter H2 Blockers like Pepcid, Tagamet, and their generic equivalents (famotidine and cimetidine). The FDA is encouraging anyone wishing to discontinue the use of ranitidine to discuss alternative treatments with their doctor.

CVS made the decision to remove these products from its shelves following a Product Alert from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The FDA warns that ranitidine may contain low levels of nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA), which is a probable human carcinogen.

CVS said in a statement that this decision was made “out of an abundance of caution.” Ranitidine products have not been recalled, the FDA is not recommending that patients stop taking them, and medications containing ranitidine continue to be sold at other retailers. So far, the levels of NDMA found in ranitidine products are only slightly higher than the amounts found in common foods.

Yahoo Class Action Lawsuit

Did you live in the United States or Israel and had an email account through Yahoo or related websites such as Yahoo Sports, Yahoo Finance, Tumblr, and Flickr between 2012 and 2016? If so, you may be eligible for compensation resulting from the settlement in a class-action lawsuit.

This settlement is the result of a massive data breach that happened between 2013 and 2016. During that time, millions of email addresses and other personal data were stolen. Although the settlement won’t be finalized until April 2020, Yahoo is informing users of their options now. If you’re a Class Member in this lawsuit, you received an email from Yahoo this week with the subject line, “Yahoo Security Breach Proposed Settlement.”

Pillsbury has issued a voluntary recall for nearly 37,000 bags of their 5lb Enriched Bread Flour bags over potential E. coli bacteria contamination.

To date, there have been 17 reported E. coli cases caused by this wheat crop across eight states, including Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Virginia.
