Overrun with Amazon Boxes AND Clutter? Try This!

With the Give Back Box program not only are you able to easily donate items you no longer need, but you’ll also be giving all of your empty Amazon boxes a new purpose. Instead of filling up your recycling bin, you can instead fill up your empty box with items you no longer need and ship them off for donation. No Amazon box? No problem. Several other online retailers, like Overstock, Jet, Uncommon Goods have also partnered with the Give Back Box program. You can also use any cardboard shipping box you have handy.

Once you’ve packed up the box with things like clothes, toys, shoes or other gently used household items. You can then print a free pre-paid shipping label through the Give Back Box site here. Labeled boxes can be dropped off at the Post Office or UPS, or you can even set up a pick-up from home by your mail carrier.

Have You Heard of Amazon Vine?

•••

The program was launched in 2007 in an effort to get customers to write top-quality product reviews that were unbiased and most importantly, reviews that shoppers could trust. In return,  Vine Voice reviewers develop followers and although they are not paid, they do receive free products to review.

There is no way to join Vine Voice because it is by invitation only and based on various criteria, including writing skills, and how many Amazon shoppers found the reviewers past reviews helpful.

Vine Voice reviewers are under no pressure to write only good reviews and are in fact encouraged to truthful reviews.

If you shop a lot on Amazon.com, be sure to write several useful reviews then start watching you email box for an invitation to join Vine Voices. Remember to review the products honestly and take pictures. This will help you build your own following which will result in invitations to sample products for free or at discounted prices.

Have You Heard of Suprize? Win Free Stuff!

Download the new app Suprize, and you could win Kylie Cosmetics beauty products, Yeezy Boost kicks, G-Eazy concert tickets, Supreme hats and backpacks, Gucci wallets and headbands, and straight up cash.
Here's how it works:
  • To get in the game, all you need to do is download the app from the App Store or Google Play and enter your phone number.
  • You'll get a text with a six-digit confirmation code to enter in the app.
  • You aren't required to give your name, location, or any other personal information. (The only time you need to enter your name and address is if you win a prize.)
  • When you open the app, you'll see a countdown to the time of the next prize drop (there are three to seven free product drops every day). If you want a hint about the upcoming giveaway, you can watch a short, 30-second ad to get one. But you don't need to: When you get close to the time of the giveaway, the app will reveal what the product is in a fun, onscreen video.
  • To actually win, you'll need to be on the app as soon as the clock runs down, and a helpful push notification lets you know when it's close. The "game" contenders play to win is simple: Find the "wrong" emoji in a grid of "right" emoji.
  • It's the millennial version of "which of these things is not like the other." You'll know if you won as soon as the 60-second game ends (the fastest times win), when you'll be taken to a new screen to enter your address so you can get your prize in the mail.

5 Best Ways to Get Free Chick-fil-A

1. Dress Up for Cow Appreciation Day

For 13 years, Chick-fil-A has offered free food to customers who visit the store on Cow Appreciation Day. To get your free meal, you will have to come to the restaurant clad as a cow.

2. Purchase the Cow Calendar

Each year, Chick-fil-A offers customers a Cow Calendar that includes a card you can use to redeem “free treats” throughout the year. More info on how to buy it here!

Here are a few of the free deals:
  • Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich
  • Spicy Chicken Sandwich
  • Chick-fil-A Nuggets 8-Count
  • Waffle Potato Fries
  • and more!

Check the back of your calendar for a Calendar Card that you’ll need to activate online. After activating your card, each month’s coupons will be loaded to your card to use during that month. If you lose your 2018 Calendar Card, it can be replaced as long as it was registered online.

3. Get the Chick-fil-A One app

Download this free app, and you will get several perks. They include the privilege of ordering through your phone and skipping the line at pickup, as well as creating customized menus that can be used each time you order.

Best of all, you will get free treats throughout the year. Get the app here.

4. Put down your cellphone — and nab a free treat

Williams hatched the “Cell Phone Coop” at his Chick-fil-A restaurant. Here is how it works:

The restaurant places a small, square box, (a.k.a. the Coop) on each table, with a simple challenge: enjoy a meal without the distraction of cellphones and receive a free Chick-fil-A Icedream®. Guests complete the challenge successfully only if cellphones remain in the Coop untouched for their entire meal.

More than 350 Chick-fil-A locations across the country now have followed suit. So, check with your local restaurant to see if you can “unplug” and get a free treat. Like all of the chicken giant’s menu items, the Icedream is totally tasty!

5. Just say no to the toy, and get a free cone

Rumor has it that your kids can get a free ice cream cone if they are willing to forgo the toy that comes with Chick-fil-A kids meals.

CFA kid’s meals come with a small toy or book. If your kiddo is not interested in keeping the toy or book, simply bring it up to the cashier and you can swap it for a free ice cream cone! I love this option as it reduces all that random car clutter and the books are mainly easy readers.

Again, we aren’t sure if this deal is available in all regions, but there’s only one way to find out — call your local Chick-fil-A.

Solar Eclipse Aug.21- Where to See It and More

Have you heard about the full eclipse coming soon? You can check here to see if you are in the path, or how close you are. The lucky states are: OR, ID, MT, WY, NE, KS, IA, MO, IL, KY, TN, GA, NC, SC. Click on your state name here. Only limited parts of each state are included. Scroll down here for detailed tips for viewing in each state.

The closer you are to the very center of the path, the longer the total darkness will last, up to about 2 minutes 40 seconds. If you are out of the path, you won't see anything without glasses.  If you plan to view the eclipse, it’s important that you have the right eye protection as looking directly at the eclipse can cause serious damage to your eyes! According to NASA, unsafe eclipse glasses are being sold in the United States so it is super important that you look for an “ISO” Icon with reference 12312-2 on the glasses. NASA recommends buying from one of the following five companies to ensure truly safe glasses: American Paper Optics, Baader Planetarium (AstroSolar Silver/Gold film only), Rainbow Symphony, Thousand Oaks Optical, and TSE 17. See NASA safety info here for more information.

For those in 100% darkness, it will be just like nighttime, with stars shining and crickets chirping.

Even if you are in the path of 100% darkness, you still need the glasses, leading up to the 2 minutes of totality.

I've also read some libraries are giving them out for free. It might be worth calling your local library to see if they are participating.

Battery Class Action

This class-action lawsuit alleges that several battery manufacturers fixed their cylindrical lithium-ion battery cells’ prices. “Individuals and businesses may have paid more for certain products which contained these lithium-ion batteries,” due to the alleged collusion, the settlement website explains.

The defendants, including LG Chem, Hitachi Maxell and NEC, deny the claims but settled the case for $44.95 million. Now it’s your turn to request a piece of the payout.

How to Submit Your Claim

To submit a claim, visit reversethecharge.com and click “claim form” at the top of the page. Select your applicable products or replacement batteries — choose from laptops, mobile phones, smart phones, audio players, cameras, camcorders or cordless power tools — and verify whether you purchased those items for yourself or business purposes.

Enter your name, email address, ZIP code and phone number, hit submit, and you’re done!

Target Restock

Target wants to encourage customers to order more everyday basics online, and to order those items all in one single shipment. That’s why the retailer wants you to fill a box that’s roughly the size of a shopping cart with non-perishable food and household goods, which will be delivered to you the next day for five bucks. Does that sound like Amazon’s Prime Pantry? It should, except that Restock’s shipping is slightly cheaper and a lot faster.

So far, the program is only open to people who have Target’s RedCard and who live in the retailer’s home state of Minnesota. Customers can fill the giant box with their household products, food, or baby and pet supplies, and then have it shipped for a $4.99 flat rate.

The beta version of Restock has a separate site to shop on and its own inventory of items, like Prime Pantry. Orders placed by 2 p.m. will arrive by the end of the next day.
